24/07/2009 OpenGL 3.2 at Siggraph 2009?

I was thinking for a while: "Would it be possible to see OpenGL 3.2 at Siggraph 2009?" A news seams to say that it might be possible.

What to expect for this version? Not much leaks yet which make me beleave that we can't expect more that an announcement for Siggraph 2009.

The ARB have been really active lately and the number of extensions released is a great proof of it.

I don't think we will get a lot of new features. Maybe, one big new feature would be shader binary. There is already an extension for OpenGL ES, it's about time to bring this feature to OpenGL.

Lot of extensions could be promoted, GL_EXT_vertex_array_bgra, GL_EXT_texture_swizzle, GL_EXT_texture_filter_anisotropic. Considering the fact that both ATI and nVidia implement the new GL_EXT_provoking_vertex, I also expect this extension. Hopefully it will be all this and more!

I expect one thing: nVidia public release of its OpenCL implementation... and I can't wait!!!
